Monday evening all Festivalensemble musicians came to the Härlen Aula to celebrate the final "open stage" night. And it was most fabulous - watch out for the links Hollie will post in the near future with some highlights from this evening!
Tuesday came and after lunch we marched to Überlingen's Franziskanerkirche to be squeezed in a quite narrow - though snugly - stage setting. Despite a constant shortage on air due to restricted breathing space the choir and orchestra perfomed a great Händel MESSIAH to a most emphatic audience. The beautiful church was packed to the last seat and after the concert it was time to (now for real) celebrate another final FES party in the Härlen Mensa. Plenty of lecker food had been prepared and beautifully arranged all day by Herrn Anhorn and his kitchen crew - and together with Barbara Dietzler they were greeted and heartily applauded with another performance of the one and only true FES men's choir ever. The FES Big Band played and the party went on 'til late...
